How SomnoDent Avant® Works
The SomnoDent Avant® features upper and lower splints that are computer-designed and robotically manufactured from a single piece of durable dental acrylic. This ensures the splints are strong and long-lasting. A soft b-flex Comfort Liner® is added to the appliance to provide extra cushioning and support for your teeth, preventing the device from slipping out of place during sleep. This combination of technology and comfort helps you wear the appliance consistently for effective treatment.

The appliance gently closes your mouth, promoting nasal breathing while you sleep. This eliminates snoring and prevents the discomfort of dry mouth, a common issue with traditional oral appliances and CPAP therapy.

How is SomnoDent Avant® made?
The process starts with a digital scan of your teeth, which our dentist will obtain in a clinic consult. Using this image, the lab designs a custom appliance tailored specifically to your teeth and jaw using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Once the design is created, it’s sent to the robot-controlled milling machines, which carve the appliance out of a single piece of dental plastic. This robotic manufacturing method ensures the appliance is strong and precise.

Next, the b-flex Comfort Liner® is added to provide a comfortable cushion for your teeth, ensuring the appliance stays in place while you sleep. Finally, the lab polishes the device to remove any sharp edges, making it comfortable and easy to wear.

After manufacturing, the lab tests the appliance with a 3D printed model of your teeth to ensure it fits perfectly and doesn’t slip off during use. Once confirmed, your SomnoDent Avant® is shipped to our clinic so you can begin your treatment for sleep apnea and snoring.
