Our approach to treatment

Our goal at Auckland Sleep is to provide our patients with a holistic treatment plan and continuity of care.

The benefit of our approach is that we can advise, at the early stages of screening, exactly which clinicians your patients need to see (and in what order).

Our strength is in our multidisciplinary approach

Keeping this exercise cost-neutral with respect to current costs of sleep health care is an absolutely critical part of our vision.

Please feel free to let us know which sleep specialist your patient might be best to see first. However, we also want to make the process easier and painless for you. So, all referrals are screened by our trained Sleep Navigators, who have direct clinical oversight from specialist members of the MDT.

Next step is a comprehensive Sleep Navigator Consult for 30 minutes. This is a pre-clinical consult that assesses the patient for all aspects of sleep related problems.  At the end of this assessment, the patient receives a detailed sleep health management plan that outlines the specialist(s) they are recommended to see and tests they might need. This avoids duplication of clinic visits and cuts costs.

Referral process

If you have a patient with sleep issues, please pass on their contact details to us here. We will then contact the patient directly for additional information to allow us to assign them to the correct sleep specialist.

Examples of sleep disorders we treat include:

  • Sleep apnoea
