At Auckland Sleep, we are proud to have incredible women in our team who are dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of our patients. This International Women’s Day, we want to take a moment to celebrate their passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment to sleep health. Their work not only improves patient care but also paves the way for future generations of women in the medical field.
Meet the Women Who Keep Auckland Sleep Running
Dr. Anitha Patel – Senior Sleep Navigator & Insomnia Specialist
With over 20 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Anitha Patel has dedicated her career to helping people reclaim their sleep. Specializing in chronic insomnia, she uses behavioural and cognitive therapy to guide patients toward healthier sleep patterns.
“I love seeing the transformation in my patients when they finally start getting the rest they need. Sleep is such a fundamental part of our well-being, and helping someone rediscover it is incredibly rewarding.” – Dr. Anitha Patel
Beyond her clinical expertise, Anitha is a strong advocate for equitable sleep healthcare. She ensures that every patient receives personalized care, making sleep solutions accessible to all.
Mae Infante – Clinical Sleep Physiologist & Medical Student
Mae Infante found her calling in sleep physiology in 2021, and since then, she’s been a crucial part of our team. She expertly analyses sleep studies and helps patients adjust to PAP therapy, all while balancing her third-year medical studies.
“I never expected to fall in love with sleep medicine, but once I saw how life-changing proper sleep care can be, I knew this was where I wanted to be. Sleep affects everything—from mood to memory to overall health—and being part of a team that helps people sleep better is truly special.” – Mae Infante
Mae’s dedication to both her studies and her work at Auckland Sleep speaks volumes about her commitment to healthcare. We can’t wait to see where her journey takes her next!
Josephine Palu – Administrative Coordinator
Josephine is the glue that holds everything together behind the scenes. She ensures that patient journeys are as smooth as possible, coordinating surgical bookings, funding, and communication with hospitals and healthcare organizations.
“Our patients often come to us feeling overwhelmed, and if I can make their experience a little easier, that means everything to me. Healthcare should be about compassion as much as it is about treatment.” – Josephine Palu
When she’s not keeping Auckland Sleep running smoothly, Josephine loves traveling and immersing herself in new cultures. Her warmth and efficiency make her an irreplaceable part of our team.
Ibadat Beri – Healthcare Administrative Coordinator
Ibadat brings a wealth of experience from the medical industry across different countries. She meticulously organizes patient appointments, surgical schedules, and ensures everything runs seamlessly.
“Coming from a military background, I’ve learned the value of structure and efficiency, but healthcare has taught me the importance of empathy. Every patient has a unique journey, and I strive to make sure they feel supported every step of the way.” – Ibadat Beri
Her commitment to patient care, coupled with her strong organizational skills, ensures that every individual who walks through our doors is met with kindness and professionalism.
